Not worth the counter space I bought this kettle in hopes of brewing tea to the right temperature the timer being a bonus. First problem is that there is no setting the temp you have to watch it and then unplug it from the wall to get it to stop. That means if you forget about it there is nothing to trigger it to turn off. One having to unplug something that involves water seems a bit shady and two though it says it will turn off if all the water evaporates that's not a situation I am willing to test out. Another problem I found with the kettle is it keeps the flavors of tea long after it's been washed and even had water boiled in it a few times. This taints the flavors of the other teas which isn't a good trademark. All in all not worth the money even if it's cheap. If you care about the temperature of the water you are better off getting an external thermometer or shelling out more money for a better machine. I wish I did.
Well it does one thing well but could be much better This kettle heats water pretty fast and that's good. But the timer that is built into the lid died in about a week and a new battery only got it going again for a short time. I don't like the fact that it is not insulated. And there is no 'off'you just have to unplug it. Also there is not a good way for the tea basket to sit when you are not using it and want it to dry. This unit could use some better usability design. But it does heat water but that just covering the minimum.
Inside is not fully stainless steel other than that great Everything seems great about this but if you are looking for an electric kettle that is all stainless steel on the in side this is not your kettle. The bottom and the infuser are stainless steel but the walls are plastic. If you're like me and like to stick away from anything plastic when dealing with high temperatures this is not the kettle for you. If you don't mind it then this is a great purchase at a great price.
Beats the microwave! I really do like this kettle. Heats water fast and it's easy to tell the temperature as it's rising or falling. However there's no on/off switch which I think would be nice. I hate pulling plugs out of a wall when an appliance is on. It would be great to set the temp you want and have a timer go off when it reaches that. But for the money this is excellent.I will say that when mine arrived the timer worked but it did not beep. I sent an email to Presto and they immediately sent me a replacement timer! Super customer service.This is my first electric kettle and I am very pleased.
pretty nifty I bought this kettle for my wife for Christmas. It works really well is very versatile and makes a great cup of tea. The timer and temp gage are very helpful.
Best Electric Tea Kettle So this is our first electric tea kettle and I have to say it works great and it was way cheaper than any other model we considered. It has a timer on top that does periodically not beep at you when the tea is finished steeping but we have never had an issue with the taste of or forgetting our tea. The built in temperature gauge is very nice since our stove teapot was very difficult to get a good read on it. I would recommend this to anyone out there just starting to get into tea like my wife and I did.

Excellent This tea kettle is easy and fun to use. Being able to steep the tea right in the tea kettle and use the right temperature water for the tea of your choice is a great feature to have.
Efficiency I am happy with this purchase. I use it thru out the day as I drink a lot of green tea. Easy to clean and it works quickly.
Good tea kettle for the money For the price this tea kettle is just what I need for brewing green and specialty teas. After watching the video showing exactly how to use and steep tea in the kettle I purchased it immediately and I haven't been disappointed in its use.As previously mentioned by other reviewers I do wish it had a longer or even a detachable cord. I also wish it had a feature that would automatically turn off the kettle when it reached the desired temperature instead of having to constantly watch the gauge on the kettle.But in keeping this in mind such a kettle with these features would cost much more than this one does and it all depends on what you want to spend and what conveniences you want to have with it.It's a good little kettle for the money and for what it does and I'm very pleased with it.
