nice modern kettle I'm using this kettle for several months now.First it looks cool and modern.The bottom is metal. Some other reviewers complain that it rusts. I did not notice that yet although I leave some water in it all the time. Maybe it rusts in contact with air?I did not notice any bad smells either. I'm using only reverseosmosis filtered water no tap water no other fluids I don't cook soup in it either.The autoshutoff sometimes doesn't work well but it's usually when the kettle is filled at or above the 1.7L level.
Powerful and modern This is my first electric kettle and overall satisfied with purchase. I wanted a glass kettle for easier cleaning and didn't want a kettle that whistled so I chose to go electric. After reading reviews on other kettles and picking a price range I chose this kettle.The pot is large enough for me to get my hand in to clean with a sponge as needed. Heats water quickly and to a rapid boil. I like the fact the bottom outside of the kettle is metal heating element enclosed by plastic and the exposed portion on the bottom touching the water is glass. I wasn't sure based on pictures originally. This is safer for our health. The product is very solid and sturdy. I like that the kettle can rotate on the heating plate.Few downfalls are the top lid locking featurefeel like I'm going to break the pot snapping closed you really need to push hard..it's easier to open. Not my favorite feature. Also I have yet to take lid completely off for fear of snapping the plastic closures. I'd like to remove in order to make cleaning more accessible. Kettle can't be submerged in water coiling on bottom so no dishwasher. I realize most people use to just boil water where I'd like to drop tea bags in loose leaf etc.hence I want to clean with soap and water not just wipe down. Also my reason for being a tad disappointed with the lid/cleaning cons as noted here.Overall will keep and learn to live with the small things since I can work around them.

Designer look and functional electric kettle Got the kettle earlier this week been using it at least 6 times to day I drink a lot of tea. Works well with water just above the minimum mark. And yes it seems to boil forever before the automatic shut off I timed it once at around 12 secs after first bubbling. But it will shut off make sure the lid is shut properly.
Very Disappointed I purchased 2 of these tea kettles. I was very excited to receive them. They look nice but on both of my tea kettles that auto shut off didn't work. The water continued to boil.
Best Electric Kettle I ever owned. I purchased this Electric Kettle a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I read the review on how it does not shutoff automatically but if you close the lid completely as instructed it will shutoff. The Glass is easy to clean and the whole unit fits perfectly on the counter. It boils the water very quickly which is a great feature for most people.
medelco cordless glass electric kettle it a very nice looking item but for a efficience point of view dissapoint me a little bit its take a while to hot the water and due the glass pot the water does not stay warm for a second or a third cup of tea.
Element has rusted after only 8mnths Zero stars!Rust spots have appeared on the element inside the glass bowl and I'm not good with drinking rusty water!Also it doesn't switch off quick enough. I made a single cup of tea with it and it boiled off about half the water before switching off.Disappointed with Medelco.
Works yes but rusting after only a few months use This kettle works fine I haven't had any problem with automatic shutoff as did another reviewer here but after only 3 months use several small rust spots have appeared on the metal heating plate. I am meticulous about making sure I don't leave water sitting in the kettleI empty it and set it open to dry after each use. This is not a highquality product built to last I'd recommend checking out another brand.
