Excellent quality I have used it for a few months and it continues to work very well. Excellent quality as expected from Zojirushi.
10+ years continuous use! We received an earlier version of this for a wedding giftwhat would we do with it? Never really occurred to us the many ways we might use it until years later when our firstborn came alongwe learned the right blend of preheated water to tap water to mix formula for her. From there it snowballed. Tea oatmeal cuponoodles etc.10 years later apart from vacations and other extended absences this thing has been plugged in almost continuously yes 24/7 and yeah I know not the most efficient use of electricity. We refill it daily.
Beware of floating plastic pieces top needs replacing overtime We purchased one and worked well although how hard can it be to boil water. After a few years my wife discovered plastic pieces of various sizes in the water. We have no idea how long the boiler had such pieces. We unplugged and I unscrewed the top and discovered a disintegrated gasket and plastic pieces that were broken. Various plastic shards were found within the top.When we emailed Zojirushi they recommended cleaning. When I emphasized it was clean but instead the issue was broken pieces of plastic and tiny pieces of a disintegrated gasket they said order a new lid $40 with shipping.I understand some products or product components need replacing over time but strongly believe there should be a warning or expiration date or simply suggest consumers unscrew the metal plate and inspect the innards now and then.Zojirushi replied It doesn't mention specifically in the manual book. However since the lid is made of P.P.
old and broken Looks like this item is out of style and people sell off the leftovers.Came 2 weeks after ordering as soon as it heated up the steam of vapor came from the back safety valve/airpump intakeSilently evaporated all the water over our polished cabinets and shut down empty.
hot and energy efficient In short I found this airpot to provide nice hot water and be energy efficient too though I have only been testing it out for several days. As I say below at 14.7 cents per kilowatt it uses $48.93/year. Now to be more verboseAfter completing the boil and having the water maintained at 208 I decided to check it out with a thermometer. I poured a cup and stuck the probe in but my digital food thermometer only showed about 170F so I tried another one with similar results. Finally I just made my self some coffee and it was nice and hot even after adding milk so so much for my thermometers. The only things I have to compare this to are my old airpot 5.5 quarts = 5.2 liters and my 1500W electric kettle. Compared to my old airpot this one is amazing as my old one had the water barely hot. Compared to my kettle it obviously is not as hot since the kettle gives you freshly boiled water though you can still add a bit of milk to the water from this airpot and enjoy a satisfying cup for some reason I imagined 208F to be hotter with respect to how much milk you could add and still be left with a hot cup but it still gives a satisfying hot cup.
The Best Years ago I was at my girlfriends and she had a similar item that had automatic hot water and I loved it. Unfortunately she had purchased it when she was in Japan. I have looked all over for something similar in all the department stores and have never been able to find anything like it. A plumber friend said that he could put one in my sink but would have to drill through my granite..I don't think so. So I was telling my son about it and he looked on Amazon and surprised me with it for Christmas. It is the best gift ever! I drink tea all the time and at a touch of a button there it is and hot chocolate too! Want to make a pot of spaghetti fast but don't have the time to boil the water just get it from the Zojirushi! I put the timer on at night to save electricity and in the morning it is already! I can't say enough good things about it.
Fantastic wish it were a little bigger Best hot water urn we've ever owned. Keeps the water at a perfect temperature easy to use the list goes on just great. We keep this full and plugged in 24/7 and we use it every single day.
Reliable hot water I had other Zojirushi hot pots before so I know the quality of it. This is a more basic model than what I used to have that lasted about 5 7 years with almost daily use the electronic failed. It gives you hot water when you need it without waiting for it. It was a little bulkier than I expected and takes up some height and space. The product is not cheap but I would pay to have this since I like drinking tea.
Fantastic product! My office pooled money to get this product after a departing colleague took her personal Zojirushi and we are *so* happy! It is very simple with only one simple pushbutton to dispense water. We use it for tea coffee oatmeal soups etc.
big pot It's big and nice good for a threeperson family. boiling is kinds slower than my expectation about 20 minutes. The heat is not isolated well so you can feel the outer wall is always hot.
