Really Really like this Tea is wonderful in this kettlecan make loose tea which I like much better than bagskeep it warm and drink a whole pot of my favoritejust GREAT!One thingif the kettle is full as marked and at the highest temp it will spew out and could burnmust watch that.
Very Convenient Before deciding to get this particular tea kettle I researched several others including Cuisinart's other electric kettle and several Breville kettles. The other Cuisinart received decent reviews and the Brevilles were a little more than I wanted to spend but the Tea100 had several excellent reviews so I decided to go with it.PROSVery easy to use and assembleVery quick water heatingLooks niceUser control over dropping the tea basket in the water and moving around if desiredPrice is good compared to competing products from companies like BrevilleCONSHard to clean out loose teaThe tea I have made with the Tea100 is fantastic. However when using loose tea because the tea basket does not detach from the piece that holds it into the kettle it is very difficult to clean out. If using fine teas that can be resteeped it isn't too bad I generally take the tea out at the end of the day and put a new batch in the next morning. However if this is not the case for you it is a tad timeconsuming. I am looking into investing in little bags to put my loose tea in before putting it in so it will be easier. All in all though I am very happy with it.
One star short of perfection! It's a little embarrassing but as an avid tea drinker around 4 cups a day this is my first electric kettle. After my trusty stovetop kettle stopped whistling and found fit to spit scolding water I was in the market for a new one. I wanted an electric kettle for the safety features and convenience. I searched online for a kettle made of quality materials glass stainless steel and BPAfree. And since I mainly drink green yerba mate and white teas I became increasingly sold on the new variable temperature options. Not necessary to make a good cup of tea but it sure does make the process foolproof.Armed with research I went to my local Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon which I would recommend if you have one in your area since my kettle came to Onehundred and three dollars about twentysix dollars cheaper than the current advertised price on Amazon. In the end it came down to this kettle and the Breville OneTouch Tea Maker. At first glance you would think this to be a poor substitute for the Breville but sidebyside the quality of the construction seems equal. Also since this kettle has a manual steeping basket it has fewer automated parts and is less likely to break down.
Cuisinart PerfecTemp Kettle I do like the Kettle but there are a few problems with it. As someone else has mentioned already it is difficult to clean out the tea infuser. The shaft that runs through the middle of it makes it very hard to reach down to the bottom of the infuser to clean out the remains of the tea leaves. The holes in the infuser are very small so trying to run water in reverse does not work. The lid for the infuser gets in the way when you put the tea leaves in. It would be better if the infuser detached from the shaft and lid so that you would have clear access to the interior of the infuser. The water temperature runs 10 degrees cooler than it is suppose to be. I set the kettle for the oolong temp 190 and the water measured with two different thermometers read 180. Using the herbal tea setting200 the water was 190 again 10 degrees cooler than it is suppose to be. Overall I like the kettle. You just have to get used to working around its deficiencies.
Not happy with product at all This was difficult to clean properly and a pain to clean the tea out of the brewer. Way too expensive for what you get. I wanted to like it but sadly I returned it. I can say that Amazon has amazing customer service and I will be a continuous shopper.
Doesn't Do Everything to Perfection but a Solid and Good Machine. I bought this after my
complicated THis was very complicated to use/clean. especially if you have arthritis. It did a well enough job in tea making but actually assembling it and putting the tea in and then cleaning afterward was NOT user friendly.
Tea a whole new experience. Long time tea drinker but now it's a whole new experience. Very clever system and sure takes the guess work out of proper water temperature and brewing time. A little learning time involved getting started but it's very straight forward from there. Very finely finished and compliments the kitchen. Enjoying several more cups of tea a day just to put the TEA100 through it's paces. Looking forward to expanding my variety of teas and sampling the new taste treats. Also Amazon had this product even before available in department stores.
not impressed I was having a hard time finding a programmable tea brewer with a keep warm feature as a gift for my mother. For the price of this product I would expect a better design. We ended up returning the teapot. The inside carafe water warming plate turned spotty brown after one use did not come clean with soap or vinegar. The unit also tripped the circuit breaker every time it was turned on. the house is new and the wiring and electrical are fine Overall I was disappointed.
Very disappointed. I didn't buy this from Amazon but from Bed Bath and Beyond. I had been wanting some type of self brewing tea pot and thought this would work well but it doesn't.I live in Denver and while water boils at a lower temperature here I didn't think it would affect the TEA100. I took the first one back because I thought it was defective as it took forever for it to signal that it was ready to start brewing actually the first one never signaled me. When I got the 2nd one home I again thought it was defective because once the rapid violent boiling commenced it still wouldn't signal to start the brewing process. I finally decided to just let it boil away and after about 15 minutes it finally signals to brew. During all this boiling the pot loses a minimum of 1 oz of water. The tea hopper is difficult to load tea into and a real pain to clean out.I like black teas and if I am brewing a tea that is the least bit foamy I also brew large pots maximum water it pushes the water/foam out the spout and all over my counter.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone and I now have a very expensive electric water kettle. I'm going back to an infuser/strainer.Very disappointed. On a better note the device seems to be well constructed and sturdy. Brings water to a boil rapidly.
