  • If you like your appliances to look cool this is your kettle. But be ready it gets hot! The good Well made. Nice plastic was used for the plastic pieces and the stainless steel has a thick wall and a nice finish. Nice tight tolerances for good fit and finish. Heats water quickly. On/Off switch has an LED indicator to let you know when it's heating up.The 'you should know' When the water inside gets hot the outside of the kettle does too just like a kettle you would use on the stove. There is no insulation between the inside where water is heated and the stainless container there is not a heating chamber inside which I imagined there was. The kettle is a bit heavy when it's full of water so if you need to use 2 hands to pour it be ready to use a towel to touch the body of the kettle.
    NOISY.but FAST This kettle heats a full pot in 7 minutes and 24 cups in about 4 minutes but it is extremely noisy. The stainless steel does get really hot but so does a regular stovetop kettle. The bottom stays cool so if you need to pour 2 handed you can support the pot from the bottom. I checked the water temp a couple of times and it heats to about 205207 degrees F. I love the nodrip pour spout and how beautiful it looks sitting on the counter. If it weren't for the noise I would give it 5 stars but I do recommend this kettle.
    Great Kettle We looked at a variety of kettles then chose this one. We are very pleased with it. It boils quickly. It has a very comfortable handle. It's attractive and matches the appearance of our other stainless appliances.
    A really good kettle This is an excellent electric kettle. It heats faster than my previous one a General Electric holds a good amount pours evenly and without drips and looks great on the counter. One caveat is that it is a heavy when full and the trigger to open the pour spout is placed such that it's a little tricky to carry the kettle across the room say without having the spout open you need to balance the kettle with your thumb on top of the handle.I should note that this may not be a good choice if you have small children as the metal exterior does get quite hot.
    It's a winner I read lots of reviews at Amazon before buying this kettle including the negative ones. I decided not to let the gripers control the agenda yes it gets hot to the touchas does any stovetop kettle and yes it has two plastic windows to show the water level and the lid is plastic but no other electric kettle isolates the water completely from any plastic.
    Finally a truly great electric kettle for the States HiWhile living and working in the UK for many months a few years ago I came to enjoy the ease of quick boiling water afternoon tea and other hot beverages. Upon returning home I purchased an electric kettle not a Krups hoping to replicate those with which I enjoyed while abroad. Unfortunately after purchasing two different electric kettles I was left a bit disappointed primarily because of the very long time required for each to reach boiling. I chalked it up to perhaps the different outlet voltage 110v US vs 230v UK.A friend recommended the Krups BW500 and thought that I would give it one more try and I am very happy that I did. This electric kettle is fantastic! Very fast heating quality build and very nice features. Did I mention that it was very quick to bring water to boil? I find that I use it so much more often than my old kettles because it is so fast. Have not encountered any loud sounds when it comes to boil as mentioned in other reviews I hear the water boiling.
    Boils water fast Steve Jobs would fire the designer So it does its job. It boils water fast. But for the price if this were an apple product more thought would have gone into how the stainless meets the plastic near the handle. The quality is automotive body work from a distance looks great. So my user tip would be don't look at it too closely and you will be happy.On another note also to do with the plastic other reviewers noted that it takes a few uses for the toxic fumes to disperse where they go we don't want to think about. For us it took perhaps twenty use cycles before the smells diminished enough for us to feel safe drinking water boiled here.Note to Krups hey this is for food! Why not get the toxins out of your supply chain before you build the product instead of expecting consumers to have to cleanse the appliance of poison before use? Just an idea. In fact read
    Terrific I have been wanting a good electric kettle and found this two weeks ago at Tuesday Morning for fifty dollars. I used the amazon scanner and took a look at the reviews. It seemed like a good deal and it was.I can't believe how fast this works compared to the stove top kettle. What a waste of electricity the stove was in our home since we drink a couple cups multiple times a day. The stainless will show fingerprints. They are easy to wipe off. Like all regular kettles it gets hot to the touch when boiling. There is no plastic taste that people mention sporadically about these types of kettles.I am very satisfied and feel like I got a great deal for the money spent. Build quality is rock solid and the look is appealing and simple. The weight is just right to convey a solid built kettle but not so heavy its a pain to lift and fill.
    switch problem After seven weeks the switch has became erratic I flip it on and it doesn't go on then I toggle it off and back on. I repeat until it goes on. Usually it does go on after no more than ten repetitions. PITA. It hasn't yet failed entirely. This happens even when the water is cold but it still could be the temp sensor. The AC connectors in the base and bottom of kettle are undamaged. Before this problem I would have given it a 4 or 5.Update I sent the unit back to Krups authorized repair/claim center in NJ for warranty replacement. Shipping was not as expensive as I thought only $7 USPS. I had the replacement unit 17 days later. So I'll up the rating by a star for good customer service.
    Great Kettle This kettle is great. It has a large capacity nice design and boils water fast. The brushed stainless looks good too. You can hear the water coming to a boil which is fine with me. It seems quite sturdy and wellmade.

  • Automatic shutoff stopped working after 9 months When I first found this kettle on Amazon it had a higher rating and the price was right. Worked great for 9 months then the automatic shutoff feature stopped workinghave to unplug the kettle to get it to stop boiling. Now I see a lot of people have this same problem.
    Leaky Kettle I've had this kettle for a few months and it's developed a leak between the plastic window and the stainless steel case. It's fine for boiling one cup but when I fill it up further I end up with water all over the kitchen floor. I normally just make tea for myself and hated the idea of wasting $40 so I've put up with it so far. However with Christmas coming I've decided to bin it and treat myself to a new one from a different company. Do yourself a favour and don't buy this one at all. The price is much higher than the quality.
    Works like a charm After much research I finally settled on this cordless electric kettle. So far I have nothing but good things to report. First off with it completly full it boils water under 5 minutes. Much faster than a stove or microwave. The automatic shutoff feature is great. It is also fun for the kids to watch the bubbles through the clear window. Bottom line for the price and the features it is well worth it.
    good looking but not reliable very nice looking kettle. It worked good then stop to shut off. Have to through it away.
    Works as expected I bought this to heat water for my morning coffee. I bought an inexpensive timer from BiMart instead of getting a pricey programmable electric kettleand it works just great.
    Nice kettle I've had this now for a couple months and have no complaints. it boils water quickly looks great etc. not really much more I'd ask for out of an electric kettle.
    Lid doesn't close returned item The lid doesn't latch on the kettle I received rendering it useless. Sending it back.
    Broke after 8 months won't shut off automatically Bought this in May and its now December so it worked great but only for 8 months. Going to investigate this alleged easy 1 year warranty promise. Hopefully I'll be able to come back and give an update.
    its good This item works good it boiled the water quicklythe only small problem is the switch you have push a little hard to turn on the rest its great.
    Heating element out within a couple of months The heating element stop working within a couple of months of purchase. I will not buy same again. It was a waste of money.January 24 2012Update The kettle is supposed to have a year of Worry free warranty but I cannot get anyone to answer the phone number listed or to return my emails.I only paid $25 for it but even at that price is not worth it.

  • Previous Reviews Got It Right! Previous reviewers got it right thank you!SummaryPros Nice looking very ergonomic and well balanced in the hand heats very quickly no dripping.Cons The utside gets hot and the lid area is subject to steam if you try to remove the lid while the pot is hot be careful! the on/off switch looks fragile. Note that the outside getting hot is NOT an issue when you go to pour the waterthe handle is very comfortable and it is very easy to handle with one hand even for this G'ma with her arthritis.Noise Personally I find the noise is not too much although it IS noticeable.The quantity of water held is 1.7 litres not the 2.5 quarts I expected 10 cups. Apparently 10 cups are COFFEE cups or about 6 oz. each. You may want to compare this to other 1.7 litre electric kettlesI did not do so since I thought it was larger than 1.7 litres.Overall I am very very pleased. I purchased this for use when we have a lot of people over as an additional source of quick convenient hot water for drinks.
    Quality & Value Heats up very quickly. Has a switch that turns it off automatically once it gets to the right temperature. Better than a stovetop kettle. Looks great. Quality item.
    Awesome for tea and instant oatmeal I am very happy I bought this kettle. It totally does what I need it toheats water for me to use for my tea and instant oatmeal. I looks nice on the counter and if you take care of it like the directions say I am sure it will alst a long time.I say if you are comtemplating getting it you should just buy it. It does its job heats water up quickly.
    Great Kettle Being from England a kettle as they are called there is an absolute necessity. I had my last one for about 10 years and it is no longer made so I bought the Hamilton Beach and have no complaints at all. Well maybe a little one. I find the little latch you push down to start the process of boiling water very flimsy and am nervous it will eventually fall off. Otherwise it is a great buy and looks good too.
    Perfect little BIG kettle We are big hot tea fans at my house! We go through electric kettles like they're going out of style. I really do not have a single significant complaint about this gem. It boils a LOT of water twice as much as many at a time and heats water very quickly. The design style doesn't seem to consume any more space than kettles that heat much less water.The design is nice.
    We use it everyday If you drink a lot of tea hot chocolate or top ramen soup then this is a must have! Tea tastes so much better then if the water is heated in the microwave and it is so much faster then heating the water on the stove. We use ours every day some days multiple times and I have no complaints. The brushed stainless looks nice on the counter and stays much cleaner then my brushed stainless fridge and stove! This is our second electric kettle. The first lasted 4+ years with everyday use.
    MUCH better than a traditional kettle but looks just as stylish I bought a traditional tea kettle on Amazon a few months ago. It was decent but it took a long time to heat up water and sometimes I am in middle of something when it goes off. I stupidly heated up an empty kettle and almost burnt the house down. So I threw that away and bought this electric kettle instead. This looks similar and BETTER than the traditional one and it functions 100000% times better.
    Caustic plastic odor I purchased this stainless steel kettle and upon using it noticed a strong caustic smell of burning plastic. I thought this smell would go away after several uses but it did not. I also noticed a plastic taste in the boiled water ruining a good cup of tea. I'm hoping they refund my purchase.
    My second Hamilton Beach even better than the previous model This one is an improvement over the my old
    Something Was Definitely Wrong We really liked the kettle's design and it worked well. However water boiled in the kettle had a strange bitter metallic taste. We were not sure what caused the taste and it left us uneasy wondering whether we should be using it. The odor matched the taste and we could always smell it inside the pot. It goes without saying that tea made with water from the kettle tasted awful. We finally gave it up as a lost cause and sent the kettle back. I hope this was just a fluke and the other kettles of this type are fine.

  • Worth it's price Easy to use. Takes the guesswork out of how to brew various types of tea. I've had one for about 6 months and just sent one as a gift to a tealoving friend of mine.
    Also available at BB&B with 20% off Just wanted to remind people that this great tea maker can be had for $200 + tax at BB&B especially fantastic deal for people who would rather buy in person rather than online.Anyway I absolutely love this tea maker takes the paying attention out of the process of making great tea. If you start with excellent tea then you can't miss.Beware that black teas will stain the bottom of the carafe and you will have to clean it properly to avoid permanent stain.
    I like my Breville tea machine. This is just want my wife wanted in a teamaker. It brews a 5 cup pot of tea just right and keeps it hot for her. She wanted to wean herself off of coffee and this machine made it easy because it made getting another cup of tea just as convenient as getting another cup of coffee. You can use loose tea or bagged tea. If you use loose tea you will get some sediment in the tea.
    Love this machine! This tea maker is exactly as described. It makes the best tea I've ever had and it is definitely worth the expense. I read the reviews and the negatives almost changed my mind about buying it but I'm glad I went ahead with it. I drink tea all day and this is SO easy and SO fast.
    Easily Damaged by Water Any water in the carafe base and the machine is completely destroyed ruined. Not a lot just some. OK so that is bad and I would be willing to pay to fix or repair but the fact that there is NO REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR! One would think that something that is used in a kitchen and holds water would be a bit more waterproof! Understand that this is not a durable item and if anything goes wrong the entire unit is scrap.
    Great Product! If you are into getting teas from a place like teavana this will really help.Pros1. Easy setup.2. User friendly display and usage.3. Easy to clean and maintain.4. Does not take much space.5. Do not have to watch over constantly while the tea is being made.ConsExpensive. But if you like your tea to be made perfectly right. Then I would recommend getting it.
    So glad I bought this appliance I read EVERY review I could find before ordering this tea maker and can say I have no regrets with my purchase. Brews quality green and white loose teas a consistent cup of tea each time! I could never say that until now. I read some complaints about cleaning the glass pot but I have no problems there maybe because I use only white and green tea leaves. As soon as I pour the last drop of tea I rinse and dry thoroughly.Love the keep warm feature. I love the ability to customize the length of time the basket stays in the water. Have not used the auto start feature yet. I have also used the Breville to only heat water and that is nice too. I have retired my tea kettle!!It is a luxury but every now and then a person needs to treat themself. I will scrimp elsewhere..
    Tea making simplified refurbished Before I talk about the Breville tea maker let me introduce my tea maker history and tea drinking habits. I purchased
    BROKE AFTER SIX WEEKS Perhaps the biggest piece of crap I've ever ordered from Amazon! Broke after six weeks of use. Not remotely worth the price charged.
    Awesome I was a little wary of this machine due to the price but now that I have had it in my house it is worth every penny! It looks good performs great and makes a superior tea. It is amazing how quickly it heats the water. Highly recommended.

    almost every day since 2002 this beast just keeps on going. only the spring on the lid is worn out so i have to push the lid up with my finger.the autoshutoff feature takes a while to activate so you need to be present when it boils or you will waste some energy.i just tested it and it uses just under 1400 watts.
    Junk AND a fire hazard One of the very few disappointing purchases from Amazon. The auto shut off feature stopped working after a month. Now if I forget about my boiling water it will just cook away until there's nothing left. Waste of money.UPDATE Yesterday not only did the boiling shutoff fail but the emergency shutoff failed as well. I forgot about the boiling water which is what the emergency shutoff is FOR and smelled burning plastic. Went into the kitchen and there it was the base completely melted and fused with the kettle. If I didn't smell the melted plastic and unplug it it could've easily started a fire. I will NEVER buy ANYTHING from this brand again.
    Works great! I bought this item on the recommendation of a friend. It's works great with heating water quickly. It definitely takes less than half the time of a microwave oven. I suppose the only issue is the automatic shutoff. It does work but it takes a little longer than I would like the water is at full boil for at least 15 seconds before it shuts off.
    VERY GOOD PRODUCT I HAVE USED THIS SINCE 2005.NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES.JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE FOR MY DAUGHTER.STRONGLY RECOMEND THIS.WORTH THE MONEY.PLEASE DONT WET THE BOTTOM PART.CLEAN ONLY THE JAR.IT WILL LAST LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.
    Just what I wanted This is REALLY nice. FAST boil and easy to cleanno exposed elementyou can use it for anything. It is EXACTLY what I wanted and am VERY pleased. We use it every day. Eggs tea stockit does it all and easy to clean stainless.
    A few quirks I've had this hotpot for at least 5 years. The chrome and black is attractive and it heats water very quickly. However I have 2 problems with it1 When you try to pour instead of coming out in a manageable stream the water pours in the middle and dribbles on each side creating a mess. I think it is caused by the interaction of the lid and the spout. I get around it by popping open the lid slightly before I pour and that does the trick.2 The autooff feature stopped working reliably about a year ago. It will boil dry if I don't keep an eye on it. It still works sometimes but when it does it will be at a full boil for a good 30 seconds before it shuts off.
    Electric Hot Pot Very Good The Chef's Choice 675 Cordless Hot Pot works beautifully. It heats quickly and I like the stainless steel of the pot. I love that it turns off automatically when lifted off the heating element.My only complaint and warning be very careful when pouring boiling water. The top is not tight fitting and water does come out on each side of the spout. If you are not careful you can burn your hand with boiling water as I did.
    stunningly effective The most amazing and effective kitchen device I've ever used. Heating water for cooking faster than any stove boiling eggs making umpteen pots of tea. Lime hardly builds up and is easily removed because of the very large wide swinging lid.We've owned two so far and both are still in service passed the first one on to my mother for gentler service. The ONLY drawback to this product is that the level indicator seal gets leaky after 5 years of service and dribbles onto the base.
    A MustHave in any kitchen I bought this kettle over a year ago and use it almost every day.I believe it is more efficient to boil some water add soap and use it to scrub dishes rather than running water from the water heater until it gets hot.It's much cheaper than a tankless system too.I use it for quick easy boiled water for instant soups hot cereal tea cocoa or instant coffeeFor Perfect Hardboiled eggs Put room temperature eggs in the kettle filled with room temperature water *though it will hold more I only cover the bottom with up to seven eggs flip on the switch.Wait 10 minutes after it has shutoff carefully dump the very hot water so as not to break the eggs pick the eggs out with tongs or a spoon and immerse them in iced water for a few minutes.The only problem I have found is minor.After using it 10 or 15 times a white concretion forms I believe it's calcium on the inside bottom of the kettle. It happens less frequently when I use filtered water.Fill the kettle with water and put in a couple tablespoons of vinegar and boil it. Repeat if needed.For it to have lasted this long with this amount usage is proof of a quality product.

    Excellent Tea Kettle! Simple easy and reliable at a fair price. What more could you ask for?The Black & Decker Model JKC650 Tea Kettle $33 at amazon.com is an excellent product that my wife and I heartily recommend. We are tea drinkers and have used this product numerous times a day for at least a couple of years. In that time the kettle has performed flawlessly never failing to bring over two mugs 1.7 liters of water to a boil quickly and easily with no hint of aftertaste.Other reviewers have downgraded this kettle for not having an easytosee indicator light but we find that particular subjective failing of no importance. I mean realistically who is going to stand there looking at a kettle waiting for water to boil? This is a simple appliance it is either on or off and the status of the appliance should be obvious to anyone. When you hear the appliance click off a distinct sound that can be heard anywhere near the kettle the water is ready.
    it works but I've owned this kettle for over a year and while it has always worked boils water fast the indicator light on the handle has always been an annoyance AND the lever used to turn it on and off stopped operating properly within just a few months. The lever still works but turning it on could be in either the up or down position I never know and of course because the indicator light is so hard to see that just makes it worse. If you're considering this kettle I suggest you shop further. I'm now looking for one that has a more straightforward on/off switch. This will get donated.
    Not a practical design The electric kettle is probably what I use more often in my kitchen. For cooking often needs a full kettle for tea minimal level of water cleaning etc. I've bought this one 9 months ago because I had no other choice in my local Bed Bath and Beyond. From the beginning I never liked the design it is very difficult to visualise the water level as it is hidden behind the handle. Also it uses a little ball to show at what level the water is. You need to tilt the kettle to see it as in low levels of water it gets stuck the on/off led is almost invisible during daylight the lid opens at a closed angle and not at 90o or more as it would be more practical. Even better if it were removable. We live in a very hard water area so we ought to use a water filter to fill in the kettle and I can only do that holding both over the sink. Not practical at all. it takes too long to boil. Very annoying.Good points about this kettle it does not leak if overfilled. And I do it a lot. This is the largest size available even in the UK. concealed heating element detachable from the base cordless stainless steel it worksNext time I visit my mother I'll take this to her as her main use is for making pasta what means a full kettle and her water is very good not hard.Pity I couldn't bring my kettle from London due to wattage difference. Now Amazon research is my only hope to find a decent one for my needs.
    Works well slightly difficult to use at first The Black & Deck 1.7L Kettle in Stainless heats water quickly a convenient view window makes it easy to see water level and its two piece design the pot rests on base is extremely convenient. A wide mouth makes filling easy and a well designed spout means little or no drip when pouring.However the on/off indicator light is very difficult to see and the 'on' button doesn't provide any kind of feedback like a click so at first it was hard to tell if it was pushed. After we understood how the kettle works these became minor annoyances. While it would be nice to see the on/off light better I don't this is a dangerous problem.All in all a good product that with a little more refinement from B&D could have been great. Worth buying at a good price but not worth paying a large premium over other kettles for.
    Slow and doesn't last Takes forever to boil plus the light on the handle is so dim that you can't see it. Leaks badly in less than a year and the lid opened lasted less than 6 months. All in all not recommended at all.
    Best ever! While I didn't purchase this kettle we have two at workand I consider them the BMW of electric tea kettles. I also have two kettles recommended on Amazon but this one is SO much better. Heavier with temperature read out and whistle which my two more expensive kettles do not.

  • pitiful amenic whistle This kettle does boil water but the whistle is weak and puny.I bought it because the earlier version was quite nice. This one isn't.I've asked WestBend for information to make it louder perhaps I received a flawed unit. If they don't answer this is going straight to the dustbin.Don't waste your money or your time.
    West Bend electric tea kettle Exactly what I wanted my last one lasted over 10 years. I hope this one lasts that long also. Use it every day.
    Open Box West Bend 6400 is a good product but I received an open box without the rubber feet on bottom of the kettle. Did not choose to return due to the inconvenience but I am disappointed with Amazon.
    Can't see and reach inside pot to keep clean. Well we love it and we don't. We loved it for years but it's hard to clean and needs to be totally dry before putting away or otherwise one of these days you'll be in for a surprise of mold. Not a house mold problem but since it happened we are over zealous about leaving this put upside down in basket sink drainer to not just drain but also dry out. We have very hard water and that's probably adding to the situation. On occasion we take vinegar and other food safe cleaners to it. Otherwise it boils water fast and we have had our since Oct.
    Has been a trusted companion for YEARS I've had this electric kettle for nearly 15 years. I don't even know if mine has an autoshutoff but it has faithfully heated my water quickly without issues for longer than expected of most appliances out there. The only annoying feature is the cord is attached to the kettle but when mine was purchased every kettle was that way. As for cleaning it you just heat a vinegar/water solution in it.
    Does not last I have had this item for over a year now and it started leaking from the bottom. The warranty is 1 year so I am out of luck. I took it apart to see where the leak was and the bottom is just a aluminium plate that fits onto the plastic pot or top. The bottom plate was corroded in several places and one spot was all the way through which caused the leak. I did use it everyday several times usually. My water is very good here with no mineral deposits so I am a dissapointed.
    It served me well! I have had this tea kettle for over 10 years. I have used it daily the past two years to make tea and coffee just heating up water. I like the compact size which was great for storage and use for a single person serving. It finally died last week. I bought a replacement different brand which reeked of plastic. I really don't want that in my water so I opted for a full stainless steel one this time. I do not recall having that plasticy smell with my Westbend though. I like that the cord is attached it is small functional whistles frees up other appliances and no on/off switch. I would recommend this product. It's ideal for dorm rooms offices small kitchens etc.
    Very good water heater This pot was the best one that I have had because it was easy to use and clean.
    It does the job I have a TFal Vitesse that I use at the office and I love it. The top opens up the entire kettle and it boils water in less than a minute. I bought the West Bend to use at home. I chose it because it is smaller and less expensive than the TFal. There are 2 drawbacks that were unanticipated and not advertised. It takes more than 2 minutes to boil a mug of water and it doesn't open up for cleaning or filling. We use filtered water so we have to get out a funnel to get the water into the kettle without spilling all over the counter. Other than that it boils the water just fineif you have the time. It's best to used distilled water so you won't get mineral buildup that you can't clean easily.
    Not recommended. I am a big tea drinker and use electric kettles a lot. I've had a TFal Vitesse for five years at home and I'm very happy with it. I wanted a smaller one for the office and got this West Bend model last year. Big mistake! First it took for ever for the plastic smell to go away. Second it takes much longer than the TFal to heat water. Third it's hard to unplug it it's not cordless nor does it have an autoshut function without getting burned from the steam. Lastly it just lost a screw from the bottom and has been leaking and rusting so I'm having to throw it away although I've used it much less than the Tfal. Yes it may be cheaper than other models but don't waste your money and invest in a good quality cordless electric kettle.

  • Water boiler and warmer with a large 4-liter capacity; Build in automatic cycle to remove water scale buildup;
  • Night light function for easy water dispense under low light; Stainless steel exterior; 750 watt, Measures 12"Hx12"Dx8"H;
  • Water-level gauge; low-water auto shut-off; Commercial grade non-coated 18/10 stainless steel interior;
  • Micro-computerized temperature-control system; reboils to 212 degrees F; Automatically keeps warm at 208, 194,175 degree F and energy saving auto cool;
  • Dispense water manually; one-touch two-speed electric dispenser; switch under spout;

  • OK but lacking some energysaving features. This hot pot is bigger than most and so takes a while to heat up. The multiple dispensing methods electric manual lever press are a nice touch. The main drawback is that the vessel is not very well insulated and so the water does not keep hot overnight. It also lacks a timer to automatically start in the morning and if you attach a manual timer to switch it on & off it does not stay in the energysaving auto cool mode. If you don't mind keeping it on all the time it's not a big deal.
    works fine it has been working fine for several months already. it takes about 30 mins to boil water. the only complain is the light indicators of the thermostat settings are not working properly especailly the 98 celsius degree light indicator. anyway it boil water so the light indicators is not a big deal for me.
    pretty good i have had 45 of these electric water boiler over the years. I have had one that the pump stop working. Another just stop working all together and my last one had a problem with the interior starting chipping.This one looks very wellmade comparing to the others I had before. It has the Unlock for childproofing purpose. It has the 3 temperature settings and an Auto cool. It also has a Auto Clean but I haven't use that function yet so can't comment on that. It has 3 ways to dispense water. The handpump the button on top and a push near the nozzle. The nozzle also has a night light while dispensing which is great.Water boils pretty quickly. The temperature seems to be accurate.The handpump function may come in handy if the electric pump stop working which is a possibility.I only had it around a month but have been very happy with it. Hope this will last me a few years.
    Secura 4 Quart Water Boiler Hot Water boiler is a great product. Large easy to press and read buttons stainless steel inner pot and perfect height for my travel mug with push to fill switch like a soda machine Some of the smaller models are too short causing me to have to tilt my mug to fill it with hot water. Keeps water warm and ready to use 24 hours a day.
    Works well at high altitudes. This is my second air pot purchase. My first air pot was an inexpensive one with no temperature control. I figured Why do I need temperature control? It's going to boil water then keep it hot so I can have tea without waiting for a kettle to boil. I was so very very wrong.You see I live in Denver the Mile High city. I realize many things I purchase cake mixes mostly have directions for high altitude cooking that I usually ignore. They turn out fine anyway. But an air pot is different than a cake. It does only one thing. It boils water then keeps it warm. Here water boils at about 202* 10* less than sea level.Most air pots come from Japan which is most definitely sea level.The first air pot NEVER stopped boiling.
    Secura Water Boiler Nice water pot it takes about 25 minutes to boil 4 quart of water. The volume is big enough for us to have access to instant hot water for a whole day. Different temperature settings are convenient for hot chocolate and tea and anything we can imagine.Love the manual pump which allows dispensing water without plugging in power. The dispensing switch behind the sprout dispenses water slowly so water does not splash and cause scalding. Just some nice details that I really love and matters to me.
    best find so far never heard of this brand before and so was surprised by the quality and design of the product. stain steel looks really cool esp when compared with those old white guys i owned. smart designdoesnt take much space though it can hold 4L since the inner rooms very largedoes it's jobboil keep warm dispense water yes cause I had one that doesn't boil3 approaches to dispense water and 3 keep warm temp options/auto cool to pick fromthis under spout switch is very handydoesn't warm up very fast though15+min to fully boil but thats no big dealdo not like the auto lock featuredon't understand why most dispensers nowadays have included this featurelock is a good feature but you should have the option to turn it off when you do not want that.
    boiling over the water will boil out of the the boiler unit and so that the kitchen counter is wet by the end of it. If you repeat this throughout the day that's a lot of clean up and even burning oneself with the hot boiling water not a safe product although pretty to look at.
    Great boiler/warmer We use a lot of hot water for various things formula tea cider oatmeal cocoa etc. throughout the day. We fill the pot once in the morning and once more during the day. A full pot takes about 30 min to reach the hottest temp. It is so much more convenient than using our previous stove electric kettles and other boilers which we had to fill several times throughout the day due to their smaller capacities roughly 10 cups. Especially like that we can dispense two cups of water a few hours apart and have them be the same temp even on auto cool.This is our first airpot so we can't compare to other brands but during the past month that we've had it it has worked just as expected. Would definitely recommend.
    good but could be better Do not get me wrong the boiler is good in general but I'd like to have a power switch on the unit and a better insulation to keep hot water longer.

  • Greatif you don't mind a few design issues I got this for my wife. She loves to make tea and I wanted to give her an alternative to using the microwave. On balance she likes it and we've decided to keep it. There are however a number of design issues you should be aware of. These are why I gave the product a 4star instead of a 5star. Since it functions and is made well I wish I could give it a 5star but for us the design issues bring down the rating. Here are the issues IMHO Steam comes up from the back when the unit boilsor reboils. Duhyou might sayIT'S A WATER HEATER! However this is problematic if you want to tuck the unit away underneath an overhanging cabinet. Most of our kitchen counters have overhanging cabinets. If you tuck this unit away under the cabinet the rising steam will eventually warp the wood. We decided to put the unit on a center island. Not ideal but it works. There is no on/off switch on the device. You have to unplug it to turn it off. Even though the plug is a newer type that is easy to connect/disconnect I'm nervous as to how long before the plug wears out. The 6hour timer for us is sort of worthless. Here is how it works.
    Ok While this works well it's difficult to clean and takes a REALLY long time to heat up. The magnetic cord like the magsafe power supply on an apple laptop is a neat feature and the unit is well built I just wish it was faster. I usually end up just using a kettle.
    LoveDrinkingTea HelloI love drinking tea at work but hated having to nuke water in a cup or pay $3 for a cup of green tea at the Cafe up the street. So I bought the Panasonic NCEH22P Thermo pot and I've been drinking my tea everyday Jan 2011. Its absolutely awesome no nuking no $3 cup of tea.The name Panasonic is definitely trustworthy. I know I know I know you all think what about Zojirushi. I have a Zoji I like the Zoji but I needed a Thermo pot at work but didn't want to spend that kind of money for something that will stay at my office. Well I took a leap of faith with the Panasonic NCEH22P. And I was pretty impressed.Operations on this machine are pretty simple and straight forward. Operates like most other popular the good ones Thermo pots. Finally its small its nice looking its easy to operate and its great VALUE Quality + Price = VALUE.
    Convenient hot water with better taste over time than builtin models Since I got married to a person of Russian heritage we've always kept an electric kettle on our counter. It's just common practice similar to other tea drinking cultures and I readily adapted to having hot water always available. We did a kitchen remodel in 2007 and I opted to install an undersink electric hot water heater by the big brand known for garbage disposals as a convenience. My parents have had one of these in various houses over the past 20 years and I knew the water taste suffered over time but I desperately wanted to avoid counterclutter in my newbut still smallkitchen. Since the new models of Instahot had added filtration to the boiler I hoped the water would taste better.Fast forward a couple of years and our electric boiler acquired that metallic taste that my parents' older units always had. Darn! So the quality of my tea went down except for those times I boiled water on the stove or in the microwave because I wasn't willing to replace the ~$400 unit on the builtin. A year after that the builtin began to sputter and spit boiling water when you used it. Ouch! The plumber said turning the temp down might help another hit to tea quality or we could replace the unit. I pulled out our old electric kettle and cluttered up my counter again.But by this point I was concerned about heating water in plastic containers and there weren't any electric kettles available late 2010/early 2011 without some plastic interior parts. Very frustrating. It was then that I decided to accept a nonstick interior not my preference but add the energy saving factor of a Japanese style electric thermal pot. Here's what decided me on this course of action1 Built in systems cost too much and sacrificed too much water qualityboth because they only have one temperature setting and because the boiler degrades over time releasing a metallic taste.2 Electric kettles usually have plastic interior parts that come in contact with the water. They all seemed to over a year ago but I think this has been addressed since. However I also found myself boiling the kettle really really REALLY often. I drink tea and coffee but also just hot water all day long and the water in the kettle cooled off quickly. I would routinely hit the button to boil go do something else then find I needed to reboil the kettle when I remembered what I was intending to do in the first place.
    Love it. I bought one of these for our home after trying a similar but different brand at a friend's. I bought this one for my son to use at his office. I love it. My husband and are tea drinkers and we can easily have the type of tea we each want orange pekoe black Chinese tea et cetera. Very convenient and easy to use. The company we bought our from shipped the item quickly and we received it before the estimated date of arrival.
    Perfect Panasonic! Purchased this Panasonic 2.3 Qt hot pot to replace a tenyr old unit that required you to pump the hot water old technology which broke. This new one is far superior in quality and takes up less space. And of course you simply push one button to dispense the water. This unit also gives you four choices of water temperature. Amazon had the best price by far! Plus free shipping.
    It is perfect !!!! I really love this thermal hot pot even if it take more than half an houre to boil after standby.
    Broke down after 2 months The hot pot stopped working after I tried to clean it with water after 2 months of use.The buttons either flashing or just don't light up at all after plugging in the pot to the wall socket.Now trying to contact Panasonic warranty.Let's see if they actually care enough to help me fix this.This definitely does not worth $66 if it only lasts for 2 months.=======================While it was working I agree with some other comments that1. It is stupid that the pot keeps boiling if you set the temperature to higher than the default temperature.2. Well it is very small. If you want to drink hot beverages all the time you should get a bigger hot pot so you don't find yourself refilling water all the time.
    Panasonic Thermal Hot Pot is Great I purchased this based on previous reviews. These reviews are so helpful when purchasing items your not familar with such as I was with this thermal pot. It went beyond my expectations. I was concered that the capacity was insufficent being the smaller of the units. It supplies me with plenty of hot tea water for my 34 cups of tea a day habit still has plenty left over. I thought the price was very reasonable.
    small form factor perfect for a desk Consno off switch you have to turn it off to unplug it.Water gauge is not accurate until there is only 2 cups left.Takes a while to heat upthe pump is a little bit loudno timer functionNow that the bad stuff is out of the way this is an enormous time saver and my tea consumption has sky rocketed. I really love to drink tea but I hate having to spend so much time in the kitchen to bring water to a simmer 1 cup at a time. I have another electric kettle but it only has the ability to boil water I hate having to watch it for 5 minutes and unplug it so the water is not too hot for my tea. Then once I have finished my cup i have to do the whole thing over again for just one more cup!I bought this thing for the same price as a nice coffee maker and it sits on my desk and keeps water at 180 degrees all night. I have been drinking more tea and less soda my concentration has improved and I am not wasting so much time away from my desk.When this one wears out or I get a chance to buy a new one I am definitely going to want some basic or advanced timer functions so I can have hot water ready in the morning or when I get back home at night. I have also seen some models with a manual pump that I imagine is quieter. For the price this is a great item and I am very happy with it.
